Here is a short update on the construction of the new orphan facility as we have had to shift a few things in how we are proceeding with the construction.
We originally were going to construct the first structure (kitchen/eating area) and the second structure (a large dormitory) before we were going to move pastor C's family and the kids to the facility. But in order to move the children into the new facility in as short a time period as possible, we have started on the construction of an 850 square foot cabana for pastor C's family. The family will live in the cabana and the orphan children will sleep in the kitchen/eating area at night. And as the Lord provides we will complete the first structure and begin on the dormitory. We know that the Lord already has it planned out; we just have to wait and see what those plans are. Not a bad place to be is it????? Safe in the sovereign hands of a good God!
Here are a few pics that show the progress of the cabana...
We decided to use "American Tiles" on the cabana (there is a Home Depot two hours away in the capital city of Tuxtla Gutierrez) as we thought that this would really give a nice look to the facility...
Here we are breaking ground...
Some of the first days of construction...we are going to put wooden floors down so the block is there simply for the foundation...
The first walls going up...
The roof going on....
And the first shingles....not finished with all the shingles yet but almost....what do you think about the color green?
Here are two pics of the property...I know that these photos are small but if you click on them, they get a little bigger. The cabana is on the left and the kitchen/eating area is on the right behind some trees.
In this last pic (taken from the road), all the area toward the back with trees is our property...all the other properties have corn or other vegetables planted on them...soon it will be hard to see all the way back to the property as the corn will be so high....
