“…And when they had come to him [Paul], he said to them: “You know, from the first day that I came to Asia, in what manner I always lived among you…and then they all wept freely, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him, sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they would see his face no more.”
I read these verses one night before we left and was greatly moved by the content.I began to ask God to make our ministry in Mexico as endearing and fruitful as Paul’s was in Ephesus.
My hearts desire and prayer to God is that He will so firmly plant us as lights in the city of Teopisca, that every person in this city of 20,000 will one day honor, glorify and bless His holy name.
I have experienced and have been blessed by various types of missions, but I can honestly say that I prefer long-term missions over any other type. I say this because I believe it is much easier for the local people to see your manner of life day in and day out. I believe that a trust is built up when the locals see that you are there for the long haul. We want the people to know that they have a place to come, and that there are people who care, when they encounter problems in their lives.
Love all the pics!!! I was wondering when we were going to get to see some prego pics. ;-)
