Joshua's first day

Hello from South Mexico!!!


Joshua Judson Keeling DeLuca (as a Mexican citizen he must have both last names) was born on Tuesday morning May 20, 2008 at 12:24am.


Momma and baby are both doing fine after their 8 hour natural birth experience.


"A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. Therefore you now have sorrow [because Jesus was going to be crucified on the cross of Calvary]; but I [Jesus] will see you again [at the second coming of Jesus]and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you." John 16:21-22


Here is little 15 minute old Joshua Judson...we now know what the cone head is that is sometimes referred to in a new born baby...but now his head is just fine and normal (except for the big bruise right at the top of his head where the cone point was)

momma was so intent on getting daddy's picture taken right after the birth...so here it is about the same time we took the first photo

Little Joshua in Grandma (Bubby) Keeling's blanket she made for Sarah about 2 years before Sarah and Lance were even an item...how beautiful is the providence of God...

Here I am letting grandma Keeling in on the news...I don't think that it was even necessary for me to have this headset on because I think I could hear her responses of joy all the way down here some 1,800 miles away....

Here are the three amigas plus one....all four of these in this picture had worked so hard just a few hours before bringing the little one into the world....our midwife Chris is on the left and her assistant Alana is in the middle with my dear wife and son making up the rest of the team...

Doing a few more checks on little Joshua...

Our pastor C and his wife came with his daughters to visit us at the clinic...our first visitors...what a sweet prayer pastor C offered up to our God on behalf of Joshua Judson...Oh Lord, bring about the petitions that we made...

Momma's verse for Joshua: "As you do not know what is the way of the wind, or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, so you do not know the works of God who makes everything." Ecclesiastes 11:5

Daddy's verse for Joshua: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
