Back into the jungle again...

Hello everybody,

These first few pics show us putting in the electrical and doors for Joel's house...we need to put some more windows in and then he will be ready to move in...the last pic shows Joel and his new bride...

This was the first day of our trip...the guys that owned these "lanchas" kept pointing and laughing at our boats...I am sure that they were saying that they were way too small and couldn't carry much stuff...they use these boats to transport not only cargo but these boats also act as their taxi system

Here are some photos showing the gang on the Tulija River...

Yours truly
So here are some pics of us stopping at a point on the river and then hiking to the villages or small communities that we surveyed...
Upon entering the communities we would stop and talk to whoever was willing and get some standard questions answered...
At this particular village, there was a large group that gathered around and recieved the good news message...join in with us in praying that the Lord's word continues to accomplish the purpose of raising the dead to life!!!! I think that it was this village that many people had never seen a white person...one lady seriously asked if we were headhunters and so she went into the house and would not talk with us...

Shared the gospel with these two kids and then gave them the Jesus dvd and several books of the Bible as they said that they had both a dvd player and cd player...
Wayne and Roni brought some Witness Bracelets along and we were able to hand them out to many children as they have the plan of salvation along with the verses from the Bible...I was able to share with these children one morning as I went back into this village to give the gospel of John to one man named Lucas that we had witnessed to the night before...(we brought along a laptop so we were able to burn that particular book of the Bible in Chol so that we could choose what book to give each contact)

Met this man on the way back to the kayaks...this is the standard way for the indigenous to carry their heavy loads...they literally use their heads

Various pics of us paddling down the Tulija and some contacts along the way...

These kids dove down and pulled out a crab...and then i gave them some candy so they got really excited....

Here we are setting up camp the first night...

Second night on the beach...just a little more rocky wouldn't you say!!! we used this setup to filter the river water so that we would have drinking water the next morning...

But when there is no clean water ready yet, you just have to improvise...here we needed to boil some water for cleaning so we just used Coke instead...

Wayne and Roni brought along some MRE's that were donated by someone they knew...first time that i ate them...hey, I was in the Navy not the Army...wasn't as good as submarine chow but they were pretty good!

Sunset on the beach we slept on!

Sunrise the next morning...

This photo shows a sad story...we hiked up to this one little village...only a few houses...and inside this shack were three little ones (not more than 6 years old)...the boy ran away when I wanted to take this photo but the two girls and just sitting there on the back hammock...only thing was that no one was around at all...no telling how long these little ones spend by themselves every day...

End of the road as there were some small waterfalls at the end of this leg of the river...large boulders prevented us from continuing so we chose this place to get out...

Here is the whole gang...what a bunch of characters right!

Please pray that the Lord would do a wonderful work along this portion of the Tulija...
Blessings to all,
Lance and the gang

I am so thankful that our God equips us for every good work, I rejoice in His equipping of your family and the group that works together with you. This morning we prayed for your family which made me think to look up your ministry online, BlogSpot is awesome, thank God for the creators of BlogSpot.
